Tips For Buying the Right Digital Camera For You
Posted April 19th, 2009
If you’ve tried shopping for Digital Cameras recently, you’ll have noticed the huge range of them on sale. All of the different brands, different prices, different features. This could be very confusing for you. This guide will help to show you some of the options you have when purchasing a Digital Camera. When you’re buying a Digital Camera, you really don’t need to look into the main technical details. To be honest, the main things you need to look for are the amounts of pixels the camera have and the zoom features of the camera. The more megapixels that the camera is, the better quality the photos will be. This is because a bigger amount of megapixels means that the photo is saved in a higher resolution and is saved as a bigger image. It really depends on what the camera will be used for. For most people, a 5 megapixel camera would be more than fine for taking average photos. The price is quite good for these cameras. However, for those who are professional photographers or people who like great quality photos, you could even go for a 10 megapixel camera. Even though you’ll have great quality photos, you’ll probably have to pay a lot of money for them. Now the other main feature of a basic camera is the zoom in feature. There is two different types of zoom in lenses. There is the optical zoom and the digital zoom. The optical zoom physically changes the distance between the lens and the image sensor. This means that you’ll get a zoomed in image without loss of quality. However, digital zooms aren’t as good because it just enlarges a central section of the image. You’ll get a zoomed in image, but you’ll lose a lot of quality of the image. That is why it’s better to have an optical zoom instead of a digital zoom.
