Capturing Wonderful Candid Wedding Photography

Posted August 18th, 2010

A candid wedding picture is a mixture of storytelling and photography. It will create memories that are even more personal and unique. The wedding photographer will be the eyes during the wedding ceremony. They will be taking pictures of activities and turn them into a work of art.

The traditional photography depends on staged and posed setting. The candid photography takes a narrative route. There are some couples that like to have candid shot rather than a traditional wedding picture since it has a more personalized and human touch to the event. There are others that choose to have a combination of both candid and traditional pictures for their wedding album.

The wedding photographer that will shoot photographs must have experience in candid photography and has to be able to shoot a broad variety of subject in different lighting and setting. The wedding photographer has to be knowledgeable in both formal and candid pictures. However, some only focus on one type of photography. You will find some couples will choose to hire a photographer that concentrates on candid shoots and another photographer to focus on the formal photos.

The photographer that will focus on the candid photography will aim to create a story of your wedding using photos. The pictures can be shot randomly or in series. It can start from your preparation and up to your departure from the wedding reception. It will make a compelling presentation of what had happened during your wedding day. After all, during your big day you will need someone to give you full account of the moments that you missed.

You can work with your chosen photographer before the ceremony to make sure that he knows what you want for your pictures. You can also explain what kind of activities that you want him to focus on, but that will not mean that you will limit the photographer’s subject choice. Remember, candid photos are informal and real representations of your wedding ceremony. It may need some light editing but it does not have to retouch your pictures totally.

The photographer must have long zoom lens on his camera to be able to shoot from afar. He must also make sure to turn off the click sound and the flash in his camera that can be distracting during solemn moments. The key to a great candid photography is spontaneity. It is best to try to ignore that camera entirely to get wonderful wedding photos.

If you want to have a candid wedding photography on your wedding, you can try to hire a New Orleans photographer. Bea Allen is a New Orleans photographer that specializes in wedding, events and portrait photography. Visit www.crystaltrickphotography.com
