Tips and Tricks for Getting Good Pictures

Hi, my name is zech, I want to talk about what I’ve learned in digital photography, and maybe I can give a few useful pointers, and tips on this wonderful art, the art of digital photography. I first want to say that I am by no means a master of this art, nor do I know everything. But I want to share what little I do know, and hope it will help. So my number one tip, it’s a rule that I go by, is that the best camera is the one you have on you. This might sound a bit silly, but honest, it sure is true.

Its almost like one of those old western sayings. The best gun you own is the one at your side. If a bear is after you, your rifle is no good to you sitting near your saddle bag! Likewise, your camera is of no use if its sitting on your counter, wile you are out enjoying the sunset. Right next to that rule number one, is to remember that a camera with no battery power is as good as one you left at home, so bring a spare. A really good way to save on battery power is to allow for natural lighting, if permissible.

This is done by understanding a few of the very powerful, yet hardly mentioned settings that most compact digital cameras come with. It is my intent to shed a little light on some of these settings, and to offer any relevant tips or tricks to help turn those good opportunities into great pictures.
