How To Order Digital Photos Online

Posted December 13th, 2010

As the owner of a digital camera you have lots of choices for getting your photos into print. You may choose to print yourself at home, take your SD card to a shop on the high street, or have your photos printed online. With the latter you may even be able to get your hands on free digital photos!

Ok so the thought of free digital photos is appealing, but how do you go about it?

Sign up with a company or two

You will soon find that there are numerous companies offering free digital photos through digital photo printing online. When considering a company check out how much the post and packing costs as you will have to pay this to have your complimentary photos sent to you. There is nothing to stop you from signing up with more than one service offering digital photo printing online, and get hundreds of free prints.

Once you have made an account you then have to upload your photos from your camera or SD card to the online album. Some companies make this easier than others. Depending on the company you may be able to download software to your computer, or simply log into your account and choose the photos you wish to upload.

When you have your photos in the online album you should then be given the choice of being able to crop them or alter them. You might want to get rid of distractions at the sides of the photo or get rid of red eye on close up head shots.

Finally your photos are uploaded, cropped and ready to print. All that you have to do now is choose the size of photo you want, if you are given a choice for your free digital photos. For the offer you may be limited to a standard size of 6 x 4 inch. Choose all of the photos you want to print within your limit and then hit the order key. You should be told how much the post and packing costs and this should be the full amount you have to pay. All you have to do now is sit back and wait for your snaps to drop through the letterbox.

Future orders

If you are happy with your professional free digital photos from the digital photo printing service you may wish to stick with the company for the future. Of course you should have previously checked how much per print you have to pay for future orders and other services the company offers. Usually the larger companies offer much more than just the standard sized photo prints. Your digital camera is a great way to give unique personal gifts to your friends and family. How about taking photographs of different scenery or flowers close up and having them printed out as a calendar? This makes a superb and unusual gift. Your options are limitless; you may be able to have unique mouse mats printed, mugs, and clothing and even have a stunning canvas made from your favourite photo.

If you’re thinking about using a digital photo printing service, we list a number of them including the free print offers on our website. There’s also a digital photo printing blog with plenty of other hints and tips.
