Posted April 18th, 2010
We have stored the memories of important occasions as pictures and photos. The cameras have evolved a great deal. From the big large black and white cameras to the compact digital cameras, the camera industry has seen a major transformation. From times immemorial cameras has been one of the favorite gadgets of people. The cameras that were used initially had to be used with films. The pictures were captured on these films and later processed. The processed pictures where then printed on a special paper. With development in technology we are now able to use the digital cameras. The best part of these cameras is that they don’t require the films that the older generation cameras used. These cameras have the ability to show the picture seconds after the picture has been taken. The digital cameras consist of a LCD screen, and memory card which were not seen in the traditional cameras. The pictures are stored in the memory card and they can be seen on the LCD screen. One can store over a hundred of photos on a single and small memory card. Some digital cameras have the function of cropping the pictures along with basic image editing. The functioning of the digital cameras is same as that of the film cameras. These have a lens with varying diaphragm to focus light onto an image pick up device. The shutter diaphragm mechanism works to let in appropriate amount of light to the imager. The only difference here is that the imager here is an electronic device while the film cameras used a chemical interface. The cameras come in various sizes, shapes and capabilities. The cameras are now incorporated into many devices like mobile phones and PDAs. These cameras are now outselling their 35mm film camera counterparts and since they are user-friendly they are popular with people of all age groups. This is the age of tech gadgets. No body is complete without them and we rely so much on these tech gadgets for our day to day activities.
