Digital Photos - How to Store and Retrieve Your Digital Photos!

Once you start using your digital camera, you will find that you will end up taking hundreds of pictures, this is simply because you can and it is free. The problem this causes is you may start to use up a lot of hard disc space on your computer hard drive.

To resolve this you have several options, you could upgrade to a bigger drive or install an external hard drive; these are good solutions until you fill their capacity as well. This solution can get to be expensive, depending if you are able to do the installation yourself or get a technician to do it for you.

Personally I think the most flexible solution is to store you photo files on to either CD-ROMs or on to DVD discs. This way you can simply burn you images and place them on a shelf for future reference. A word of warning, make every effort to label your discs of what is on them, and make it very clear, I can tell you two years from now three words on a disc will not mean a lot to you.

CD-ROMs are great for sharing your photos with family and friends: you can create custom CD-ROM with slide shows showing where you went on your vacation, or for your friend with pictures of his or her wedding.

As long as the person has their own computer, or DVD player they can take your pictures and print them out, make them into posters, create Web sites, or do many other things that they couldn’t do if you just sent snapshots.
