Camera has come a long way since the olden days. Have you ever wondered how a photographer gets such clear and detailed photos of objects that are even moving? This is because the photographer uses the right focusing mode.
Nowadays, most digital and traditional SLRs sport three different focus modes. The followings are descriptions of the 3 modes:
- Manual focus mode.
In this mode, the photographer has to manually do the focusing. The photographer is required to rotate the focusing ring on the camera lens, in order to get a focus. This mode provides the most control to the photographer.
- Single auto focus mode.
In this mode, the camera automatically focuses when the user presses the shutter button either all the way down to shoot a photo or half way down to lock the focus. This mode is handy for shooting stationary subjects. This mode can exhaust battery life faster than manual focus mode, though.
- Continuous auto focus mode.
This is the one of the latest function of cameras. In this mode, the machine continuously adjust its focus by itself as the subject moves. This mode is handy when capturing moving targets such as vehicles. This mode allows the camera to continuously keep the object in focus. The negative point is that this mode uses up battery power the fastest and thus should be used sparingly.
Well, in a nutshell, these are the three main mode of focusing that are found on modern digital cameras especially DSLRs. One can to experiment to decide which mode is most suitable for the situation and occasion. Thank you for reading.
